Built From Real-World Experience

RedRunner Designs grew from founder Tym Kane's 1997 Toyota 4Runner, @RedRunner97.

As the 4Runner became more capable off road, the limitations of traditional factory-style sway bar links became increasingly apparent. Instead of simply replacing them with another stock-style part, Tym began developing stronger alternatives better suited to modified vehicles and trail use.

That eventually led to RedRunner Designs' original sway bar link systems and, as more vehicle applications were added, an entire product line centered around one specialized area of suspension that is often overlooked.

Today, RedRunner Designs continues to design and develop its products with a hands-on approach. Components are locally machined in and around Simi Valley, while the links are hand assembled, inspected, packaged, and shipped by the RedRunner Designs team.

Many systems utilize components from established manufacturers including FK Bearings and Energy Suspension, along with locally machined components and carefully selected hardware.

Lift kits, larger tires, shocks, and springs tend to get most of the attention when building an off-road vehicle, but changing suspension height and travel can also change the operating angle of the sway bar.

A properly sized sway bar link can help place the sway bar back into a more appropriate operating position and reduce unwanted binding caused by an incorrect link length.

For vehicles equipped with a RedRunner Designs Quick Disconnect system, the sway bar can also be disconnected for increased suspension freedom while off road and reconnected when returning to the street.
